In Memory of
Little Fella
Little Fella was the sweetest senior gentleman, with a gentle spirit and a touch of mischief that made him unforgettable. He came to IRES from a loving home where he had been well cared for, and when his owners faced a move, they made the compassionate decision to ensure he would continue to receive the support he needed. At 30 years old, he underwent a full evaluation and was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and insulin resistance, with significant rotation in all four feet—yet he remained comfortable and content for much of his time with us.
He loved causing a little chaos with his friend PorkChop, always keeping us smiling. Little Fella knew exactly where the treats were and would happily drag you straight to them, making his intentions very clear. He also adored his grooming sessions, soaking up every moment of attention and care.
Little Fella remained comfortable until the end of December, when he began to struggle with laminitic flares. Even then, he faced each day with quiet resilience. He was a truly special soul who brought both laughter and love to those around him, and he will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
